This short book touched my heart in ways that will take a long time to process. I’ve enjoyed and said goodbye to many horses and with each turn of the page I remembered with clarity the depth of those relationships. One of the very best books I’ve ever read. I found this book at a time when I need it. I am having my two old horses (29 and 30) euthanized in five days. It is the hardest decision I ever made. There is always that thought, well what if this happens or that happens? Dr. Jefferson’s experiences erased the “what if” and made me realize “it is time”. Every pet owner can learn something from this book. Heartfelt and warm. Well done.
