About this listen
Every woman needs a friend like Karen Grace. In this third audiobook in the series, Karen travels from Palm Springs to Newport Beach to Denver reuniting with friends, all of whom struggle with matters of the heart.
In Palm Springs, longtime couple Fern and Belle are on the verge of breaking up, but everyone knows they were meant for each other. Now in their late 70s, will Fern accept the truth about their relationship before it’s too late?
In Newport Beach, Rita, a fiercely independent trucker, must choose between the call of the open road and her devotion to Grady, who needs her now more than ever.
In Denver, Jessie has managed to keep her troubled mother at arm’s length, but Sandy is desperate for reconciliation. While Jessie fights to protect her family, her marriage hangs in the balance.
Caught up in the drama, Karen fears repeating her own mistakes. When she returns home to North Dakota, husband Curt drops a bombshell that threatens to tear them apart.
Goodbye to the Blues is an upbeat testament to the power of love in all its forms.

Family doesn’t mean everyone has to like each other. That’s the case when cousins Taryn, Anna Rose, and Jorja return to Shamrock, Texas, to help manage their grandmother’s flower shop, the Lucky Shamrock. The reunion isn’t exactly a beautiful arrangement—considering they’re as compatible as ranchers and coyotes. Thank heaven for a handsome go-between like Clinton, who lives above the shop.

Several Stories in One
I loved the way the author, intertwined several stories into one. Karen, the main character goes to Denver to be reunited with some camping buddies.... The first is her friends Belle and Fern, who are lesbians and have kept their secret from society for fear of what society thinks-which has cause grieve for Belle, who is tired of feeling ashamed and less than...then Belle and Fern have a friend, Rita, who is a truck driver, however, getting up in age, the road is no place for her to be as her age and health start taking their toll on her.
Then, her friend, Jessie (Jessica) is about to have a nervous break down, trying to run her own company, taking care of 2 children and trying to be the perfect wife. While Karen is staying over at her home, she runs out for some coffee, where she sees Jessie's mom. Jessie's mom tried to kill her 7 years earlier, while she was pregnant, by pushing her down some stairs and needless to say did not have the best relationship with her, however, Jessie's mom, Sandra, ends up has her house cleaner and babysitter to help her maintain what is left of her sanity. Once Karen, leaves this situation, she goes back home to North Dakota, where her husband has a once in a lifetime job offer, however, Karen doesn't want to leave her farm and her horse, nor does she want to leave her dying Aunt.
The narration was wonderfully done, however, the narrators voice was not that of a 70 year old, as mentioned in the book. This is not the narrators fault at all and I feel she did a wonderful job with each character.

Sweet story with lots of details
It's a book full of details and roller coasters along with friendship and love. It feels like 3 books instead of one and you never felt bored. Great stories of all and the ups and downs were numerous but great.

Bye Bye Blues
Goodbye to the Blues
: Lynne M. Spreen
It was a treat to get to re-visit Karen and her friends. I enjoyed the drama that most of the friends were going through, and yes Karen's as well. It was interesting to find out she didn't really know her friends as well as she thought. I hope there might be just one more of these adventures, but if not ......this ending satisfies.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Jennifer Jill Araya voice is quite entertaining!
