"The Yellow Sign" by Robert W. Chambers: Using the rich gothic language of Poe, the author creates a similar shocking effect.

Great stories and narration but read with no pause between, as if studio time was at a premium. Very odd, and almost comical. Overall I very much enjoyed this collection.

Each short story stands on its own as representative of writing of the period. Great find in the Plus Catalog, highly recommend for those who enjoy classic writing.

Variety of suspense from excellent authors

Wonderful classic stories.
Artful narration.

My only criticism is the editing. I wish there had been a better transition between stories. The existing transition is so abrupt; there is nearly no gap between one story ending and the next beginning. I listen to many audio anthologies and the transition between the selections in the anthology is normally handled much more smoothly.

Minor Criticism - Editing

Classics I loved by a most extraordinarily talented narrator/voice actor, Geraint Wyn Davies. Couldn't ask for more. I will definitely listen again and again.

Great stories but my hat off to the reader. Excellent at conveying feeling and different voices and accents without being overdone.

A superb reader

Famous American short stories wonderfully read by Gerraint Wyn Davies. My favorite was “An Occurrence at All Creek Bridge” by Ambrose Bierce.

Ambrose Bierce’s story was striking!

Stories are interesting but the narrator is trying too hard.
These are classic stories and I have listened to most of them before.
Good thing this was included with my membership or I would have returned it.

The narrator is a below par.
