Great short stories, poor narration

Loved the stories, but the narration for several of the stories was horrible. In those stories, The narrator spoke in a monotone voice, without any inflection to vary words or sentences. Sentences and words were spoken with the same tone throughout the story (normal speech varies the tones within words and sentences; these narrators did not do that.)
