About this listen
Editorial reviews
Alan Cross, beloved radio broadcaster and documenter of all things rock presents an artist profile of the band Green Day as part of his Alan Cross Guide to Alternative Rock audiobook series. Cross, in his familiar, affable, radio voice discusses the band Green Day. "It's one thing to be young, loud, and snotty," Cross remarks "but it's another thing entirely to be old, loud, and snotty." Not many angry young punk bands have the kind of staying power of Green Day and Cross takes a look at how this California punk band has been able to remain relevant and authentic after all these years. Fans of Green Day and new listeners alike will delight at this succinct primer.
Would you listen to Green Day again? Why?
Yes. I am a Green Day fan. Have been for years, but I was always just listening to the music. I didn't know much about the band members until listened to this. What did you like best about this story?
The straightforward facts presented in a way that made you pay close attention. Learning things I didn't know before. What about Alan Cross’s performance did you like?
He is a very clear speaker and his presentation of the book was great. I couldn't find any fault with his narration.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No. Its really not the type of book that brings out emotions in a person. Non-Fiction works usually are not emotional at all to me.Any additional comments?
A must listen short piece for any fan of Green Day or Punk music.A fact-filled review of a GREAT band.
