About this listen

In this third book of the series, in the year 226 BCE, Hannibal is assigned the task of training 60 elephants for war. These elephants will then be transported across the Mediterranean Sea to Iberia, there to be used in battle against the indigenous people. Liada and Tin Tin Ban Sunia are instrumental in the care and training of Obolus, the largest of the war elephants. In Andalusia, a kingdom in southern Iberia, the young Imilce Adriana Lucia Argantino, the Oretana Princess, leads a shelter life of luxury. She knows little about the world beyond Almodóvar Castle, but her adventurous nature leads her to cross paths with Hannibal. This chance meeting in a quiet forest of two people from very different cultures and backgrounds will have monumental consequences, not only for the two of them, but for the whole country that will, in the future, become known as Spain.
