About this listen
Escaping the war was easy until they killed his friend. Now war is all they'll know.
When Frank Sherman was one month into college, the Twin Towers fell. He joined the Army the next day. That was fifteen years ago. He never left the war.
After a brutal and bloody mess in Eastern Europe, they give him leave to visit his only genuine friend in Northern California. Sherman arrives in the small backwater town to find an empty house and a sinking sense of despair. What began as an escape from the violence and blood quickly spirals back to the war. As he uncovers each new link in the mystery, Sherman takes another step back towards the cold-blooded killer he has become.
For a generation left with no choice but the War on Terror, Sherman knows only one truth. It was not his war to start, but it is his to fight.
Fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, and Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne will enjoy this Frank Sherman thriller.

Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

AI narration
This is a great story ruined by robotic narration. Why does everything have to be cheapened?

The narration was better than i expected.
This is a genre I enjoy. The narration needs a little work...IEDs were not pronounced correctly, but the AI did a better job than the last narrator I listened to. The story was similar to that of a Jack Reacher novel.

Virtual Voice Sucks
Virtual voice narrating is so dull. There is NO emphasis/emotion in the reading. So hard to stay engaged with dead narrative.

Narration and story line disappointing
I was excited to listen to the AI generated narration but was incredibly disappointed. The narration was bland at best, monotone and without typical human emotion in the voice. The story line, plot and characters started off okay but rapidly declined. Between the horrible narration and story, I couldn’t finish the book. Grateful it was free.
