Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

The awful narrator.
Virtual voice is awful. It pulls you out of the story and makes it hard to follow. The mispronunciation of names is painful.

I don't like AI voiceover
As per usual, Campbell wrote a great story. That being said, all the charm of Hank and this unique world is lost due to a virtual voiceover. It's pretty good for what it is, sounds a lot more human than most, but there's no emotion. It mispronounces things here and there as well, but what most bothers me is the lack of soul in the delivery. Unfortunately, I will probably refrain from listening to any more stories in the Hank universe unless they are voiced by Liam, the original guy

AI Virtual Voice is terrible don't bother listening
The stories were fine. The "virtual voice" they used is terrible. Inflections are off, it pronounced things weird, it was monotone and the no emphasis on anythis so it made it so hard to follow. Just a monotone drone. What's worst of all is it's missing the soul and voice of Liam Owen.

Virtual voice could tank this series
The story is of usual high quality but the narration is so flat it really hurt it. Bring the humans back please

AI narration lacks soul
These are background stories of Hank. I liked it overall, but I was impressed and disappointed with the narration. The articulation was good. It's better even than a lot of narrators. However, it ultimately failed to pass the humor to the reader. This example would work for class subjects. It was free for subscribers, so I am not unhappy.

Good Story. Crappy AI reader.
Ok short story about Hanks early years but the AI reading is poor. No inflection of voices and several improper pronunciations of names. This AI is not ready for prime time.

do not listen to this! AI voice sucks!
PAY VOICE ACTORS!!! Don't listen to books using this synthesized voice. AI voice is a scam trying to drive the prices of actual workers down to unsustainable levels.

Dred Aled Allert!
I can believe in a world where robots are the bad guys there is this abomination of an audio book. Major characters names were flubbed, the overall voice was lost... I only bothered to finish because I wanted to know the childhood stories. Come on Steven... I stuck with Hank through the last three (weak) books but I'm not going to put up with Cliston reading to me. .. hire Liem back.

AI narration sucks
the AI narrator sucks any joy this prequel may have had. Not sure why this wasn't given to Liam, but I am terribly disappointed.
