About this listen
'Will you do my eulogy?'
With those words, Mitch Albom begins his long-awaited return to non-fiction. His journey to honour the last request of a beloved clergyman ultimately leads him to rekindle his own long-ignored faith.
Albom spends years exploring churches and synagogues, the suburbs and the city, the 'us' versus 'them' of religion. Slowly, he gravitates to the inner-city pastor of a crumbling church that houses the homeless and is stunned at how similar belief can be. As his own beloved cleric slowly lets go, Albom writes his final farewell, having learned that a faithful heart comes in many forms and places.

Educational
I really enjoyed this book. Very easy to read. I found it very educational. It gave the listener an insight into the Jewish faith. I learnt that we are more alike than different. The author has a great sense of humour and this adds to the enjoyment.

I loved it
I always find what Mitch Albom writes heartwarming, and I was not disappointed by this book. It is similar to Tuesdays with Morrie, but a different twist. Definitely a lovely listen, and great company for a few short hours. Thanks Mr. Albom.

Heartwarming
I love listening to Mitch Albom's narration of his own stories .... he delivers the story with a warm authenticity.
This one tugged at the heartstrings.
The book presents beautiful life lessons and highlights the importance of love and compassion towards others .... no matter what the difference in religious affiliation.

Basic
I found this book basic. Mitch's experience does not surprise me. It's nothing new as many Rabi's or church Pasteur's are somewhat inspiring. The book is short and not a terrible read. Mitch is a good writer of course, You just have to read Tuesday's with Morrie to know that and if you haven't read Tuesday's with Morrie, this book is no where near as good. The books is Just very simple. Great for teenage kids or new church goers. The book donates a certain percentage of it's revenue to a charity.
