Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Another Fine Addition to my Mythology Library
If you are all interested in cultural myths outside of the typical greco/roman tradition we covered in secondary school, this is a great way to explore some of the fun and interesting parts of pacific island myths and legends ... and is a tad more in depth than watching Moana (which I have ... so that is not really a critique). There is even a little history of Hawaii thrown in ... So ... Clocking in at just over 23.5 hours, there is a lot to like here, with a narrative performance a solid match for such storytelling.
I was given this free advance review/listener copy (ARC) audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I understand Moana so much better now
I had no clue that Moana was based of real myths. I thought it was just made up. It was cool making this connection and learning about Hawaiian culture. There is a lot more in this book than just Maui stories. This was a really enlightening and timely book. The narration was well done.
