Heather Fleming performs as a ventriloquist and works as secretary at her family's theater in Branson, Missouri. When police officer Gage Cassidy visits the theater investigating a credit card skimming operation, Heather is attracted in spite of her goal of devoting her life to the business and atonement for failing to change the tires on her car before loaning it to her friend who had an accident in it that left her blind.
Determined to solve the fraud case, even if Heather is involved, Gage finds himself caught between his duty and his attraction for the lively blond entertainer.

I enjoyed the first book in the series, even though they are a little bit cheesy. These books are good, clean, romantic with a unique twist for the hero and heroine.
However, this one went a bit too far for my taste. The main character, Heather is a ventriloquist whose family holds shows in Branson, Missouri. It wasn't too bad until she began talking to her dummies!
Her family is under investigation because there has been some activity that resulted in identity theft and the one connection to all of them is the gift shop at their show.
Gage is a cop assigned to the case. He seems to have the patience of Job as the story unfolded rather slowly, in my opinion.
The overall message of these books is good, heartwarming with the message that is needed. As I stated, this one was a bit weird for my taste.
Narrated by Amanda Fugate-Moss was very good. I enjoyed her performance. 4 solid stars for the narration.
Notes: There is nothing to warn of here. A good message in a unique story.
Stars: Overall 4, performance 4 & Story 3.
This was an above average story line with the great narrator.
