With a contented sigh

Jeremy Sinden has captured P.J. Wodehouse so very well in Heavy Weather.

The plots and subplots are delightfully entwined and keep Galahad on his toes.
While would be high profile personages are plotting to steal Galahad's ms, others see a fortune in publishing same. Meanwhile the Earl is determined to prevent his neighbour stealing his award winning pig. And then some.
A most enjoyable listen. I would like to hear Sinden read more of Wodehouse.

The name is Mulcaster ... VISCOUNT Mulcaster!!!

Jeremy Sinden's unforgettable turn as a kind of proto-Emsworth in the lavish TV adaptation of Brideshead Revisited gets a fitting culmination here. He reels off a series of comic masterpieces in the form of Wodehouse's Blandings Castle regulars and some special guests but reserves particular genius for ninth Earl's redoubtable sisters Connie and Julia (can Lady Bracknell be far behind?). I give the story only 4 stars because it is a little bit of a reheat of the previous instalment (Summer Lightning) even to the kidnapping of the zeppelin-dimensioned Empress. One other minus is the slightly abrupt exit of Monty Bodkin before the finale when such a lively character deserved a send-off as memorable as Lord Tilbury's, if less odorous. Still with Sinden at the wheel it bowls along in jolly style like an Edwardian roadster and the happy couple are united at the end.
