About this listen

The future is coming, and fast. Will it bring us a world of war or peace, abundance or misery, autocracy or democracy?

World renowned futurist and educator Langdon Morris offers this detailed and fascinating exploration of the next ten critical years for humanity, and answers these essential questions to help you prepare for the coming turbulence.

With more than 100 color graphics that illustrate and explain the key concepts with exceptional clarity and detail, this book is essential reading for leaders, strategists, educators, parents, and citizens worldwide.

From the Preface:

This book is about the future.

Which means that the moment it goes to print, it will be out of date, because things are changing that fast.
By the time you read this, many of the pressing issues and questions which I will discuss in these pages may have been resolved, and new ones will have arisen to take their place.

But this must not deter us from thinking about and planning for the future, as thinking, planning, and acting well are our only hope for making a better future.

Today we’re deeply concerned about geopolitics, with two significant wars currently raging (Ukraine and Palestine) and a third threatened daily (Taiwan), and regional conflicts festering in many places. People are also starting to be seriously worried about the impacts of artificial intelligence, especially the people who know it best: leaders throughout the industry are now calling for its regulation, which is quite unusual and indicative of the dangers and challenges it presents. And lots of other things also pose serious challenges, like climate change, economic change, and demographic change.

Can we find a positive path through all this tumult, and reach a better place?
I am optimistic that we can; the purpose of this book is to examine how we might.
