About this listen

Set in the vast and pristine wilderness of 1970s Montana, this steamy and twisted dark romance follows a woman’s obsessive pursuit of an alluring and potentially dangerous man. Will she win his heart or become his next victim?

Do you lock your doors and windows at night? Will tonight be the night you’ll find out why you should?

In the first installment of the Bowman Case Files, bored and entitled university student Julia Strauss meets a captivating man during a random encounter at a cafe. She is instantly attracted to the handsome stranger and pursues him obsessively.

What she doesn’t know is that behind all the charm, he has a secret agenda of his own. Can Julia see beyond the haze of her infatuation before it’s too late?

Oh my gosh this narrator is so annoying she pauses after after every word! The narrator would have been a much better story had she narrator as if she was reading it to her self!

I took a chance on this new book that popped up with no reviews yet.
It was....weird.
The narrator wasn't my favorite. The way she spoke sounded like someone reading lines that's never acted before.
That being said, it did suck me in and I wanted to know what was going to happen.
It's VERY sexual. Consensual and rape both. That can be a good thing or not so good thing, depending on your preferences, but I think that's something people would want to know.
Since this is Book 1 in a series, the ending was kind of abrupt and left alot of questions. I'm sure that was the point, but I was kind of hoping to not have to listen to this narrator again, just to find out what happens.

I was unable to review this fairly due to such horrible narration! I just could not listen to it any longer. I will purchase the paperback and revise after I read the book.

Horrible narration!

Hard to follow

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Monotonous,  unimaginative,  flat narration with no emotion- painful to listen to.

Pathetic character
Awful wording
It was free, but I feel like I should be paid for my time and mental anguish.

"She couldn't understand why a man wouldn't complete a sexual act when presented with such an opportunity" Wellllll.....he cut his hand and is bleeding- which she pointed out to him,  theyre cold and wet in his workplace,  he's hunched over and gasping, things are breaking,  there's a storm. Oh, and she's an annoying little shit...spoiled, full of herself, just dumb. BUT LETS SCREW, by all means?!?

The writing is a slap in the face....one thing, then another,  tangents and changes that muddy everything. Words and phrases shoved together like someone trying to mask plagiarism in middle school. Cool it with the metaphors!

Stupendously Bad

The female lead makes me want to rip my ears off. Even in the 70's we weren't so gullible. I couldn't take it. The narration seems a little slow.

Not my cup of tea

Really liked this book. However, the end leaves you hanging. Sure hope there is a second book that picks up where this one leaves off! I still think it’s worth 5 stars despite the end. The narration was good as well.

So good

Enjoyed listening to this book. Great story line. The narrator definitely made it worth listening to.

Suspenseful

This narration was painfully bland. It’s the worst book that I’ve listened to thus far.

Horrible performance.
