Publisher's summary

Her Irish Surrender is the fourth book in the Holiday Mail Order Bride series! If you've not yet delighted in these sweet stories, you can start here without having heard the previous three. (Unless you want to, of course!) Enjoy Lorcan and Adaline's story of love, adventure, and miracles.

Adaline Dermont had a dilemma. She was losing the home she and her aunt had lived in for the last seven years. Their money embezzled away by a crooked solicitor, Adaline must either become a mail order bride or face the cruel streets of New Orleans. Her aunt had someplace to go; Adaline didn't. Mrs. Ridgley's Mail Order Bride Service looked like her only hope.

Lorcan Brody didn't have a dilemma, but he did have an overweight cat, a mother with a fierce Irish temper, and a best friend who got him into more scrapes than Lorcan could count. And one thing he didn't count on was his parents' sending away for a mail order bride! Getting married was the last thing on his mind, and he let everyone know it, including the bride!

Find out what happens when two people think the thing won't work, but it turns out to be the thing God had in mind all along....

Loved it!

This was a wonderful book! Most of all loved the way that it showed the struggle of falling in love despite the inner and outer fighting. Just fantastic!!

A solid story with an awesome narration

I met Ms Morgan at a book conference and while talking she was raving about her narrator for her Holiday Mail Order Brides series. When she heard that I hadn't listened to any of them, she offered me a review copy. After listening to this story, I devoured the rest of the series, which were available to listen to via Amazon Prime (at the time of this review, I don't know if that is still the case).

This is book four in the series and while there were a couple parts and characters from prior books, it stands on it's own quite well. As always with series, it works best if read in order, as it enhances the story.

Let's start with the narration. Mr Rahhal is awesome. He does voices for all the characters and infuses so much emotion in his performance. I would not hesitate listening to more books narrated by Mr Rahhal, as he was quite entertaining.

On to the story... Adaline needs to escape New Orleans and her elderly aunt suggests becoming a mail order bride. And so Adaline is on the train to Oregon to marry Lorcan, a book store owner. Lorcan doesn't know that his mother has sent for a mail order bride for him, but is drawn to the woman and so begins their romance.

There are a few twists and turns in the story to make it interesting and to allow the characters and their romance to grow.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read and I'm definitely a fan of Ms Morgan and Mr Rahhal.

This book was given to me for review, but all opinions are my own.

Cute Surprise

I listen to a few chapters of book 1 and 2 in the series and couldn’t decide if the writing was bad or just the narrator. I usually finish books even bad ones. I’m so glad this was a free to borrow because I will take another chance on Kit Morgan. Cute plot!

cute story

There were a few parts that got a little close to the edge of what I like to see in Christian fiction, but over all a good book.

Humorous

Good story. Funny moments, dangerous moments.

The narrator was great, as usual. Good accents and different voices. Quite enjoyable.

Beautiful & Touching

This is a beautiful and touching story. I particularly liked the touching scenes when the hero lost his eyesight. The theme however of the mother ordering the bride without telling the groom is too repetitive in the author books. Still the story is amusing and full of surprises.. the narrator did a fantastic job.

Be Still My Heart

A wonderful journey that touched my heart! So far I think this is my favorite in the series. Well, yes I say that about all of them, but with Michael Rahhal with an Irish brogue, well... it melted me to a puddle!
Adaline Dermont had to find a place to go and it seemed like being a mail order bride would help her find a home. Imagine her surprise as she got to her destination and it was not Lorcan Brody, her betrothed, but his parents. What she found out was Lorcan's mother had sent for her and she was a surprise for him..
I want to just tell you this entire story but I will live it at that because you do not want to miss this one!! These two had a lot of twist and turns but I fell in love with them both.. The best..
