About this listen

When district attorney Tory Carson returns home after a long day in court prosecuting a gang leader, she finds her house trashed. Concerned that the vandalism is connected to the trial, the local police chief calls the Texas Rangers...and her former love, Cade Morgan, responds. Tory's history with Cade - and the secret they share - makes her reluctant to let him back into her life. But Tory doesn't want to choose between bringing down a gang leader and protecting her teenage daughter.

With the threat escalating the longer she tries the case, the safest place for Tory and her daughter is at Cade's ranch. But can Cade protect them long enough for Tory to bring the criminal to justice?

Good Story

Story was good but the female reader trying to sound like a man was off putting.

Good Book

It’s a great story! I love love inspired books and I’m so glad that they are now being made into audiobooks! The only thing I didn’t like was that for some reason the first and second chapters were reversed.

This story keeps you on the edge of your seat

Tory and Cafe have a complicated past. But they come together to protect Tory and her daughter. This story has several twists and turns. I really enjoyed that there was more going on than what was obvious. Great story, and very good narrator.

Good intrigue, clean author

I am always excited to find another author who not only can write good intriguing stories with lots of suspense with just a twist of romance but also who can keep the language and the story clean. Will definitely listen to more from this author.

Narrator's allergy to the "a" vowel.

The story was well written. Narration was excellent except for this narrator's annoying mispronunciation of some words with a short"a" vowel, pronouncing a short "o" vowel instead. "Family" becomes "fomily." "Had" becomes "hod." "Have" becomes "Hov." "That" becomes "thot," etc.
Unnecessary affectation that pulls the reader out of the story. I avoid her narration frequently.

Not liking the Narrator

I didn’t get far. Coleen was hard to listen to. The story might be good but I had to return it so, I’ll never know.
