Publisher's summary

One omega on the run.
One alpha resigned to a life alone.
Until the day their paths cross and their fates are sealed.

Dai

I thought I had an alpha who would love me forever. But I found out the hard way that I was wrong. Broken and bleeding, I have no choice but to run, but I have nowhere to go. No one to turn to. Until I meet him - Jace. He promises me a home. Safety. Maybe even a second chance at love. I want to believe that's possible. But after all I've been through, how can I trust another sexy alpha?

Jace

I've always been looking for something I couldn't find - that one special omega who could become the center of my world. I've almost given up hope when Dai walks into my life. One look at him, and I know. So, I give him a home. A job. My heart. I'll do whatever it takes to protect what we've built. The omega is mine. And I'm going to prove it to him.

Hillbilly Diner’s Omega is a steamy non-shifter, mpreg novella set in an Omegaverse. This is a steamy younger man/older man mpreg story.

The narration wasn't for me

3.5 stars

Narration: Richard Sack narrated this. It was a first for me with him, and I wasn’t a fan. His voice is older sounding, so the Dai parts just didn’t work for me. It was okay for Jace since he was older, but that’s it…just okay. I felt he read too slow in most parts and it was a bit stuttered. In parts, it was a struggle for me to get through the whole thing. But I thought the story was cute, so I kept at it.

Story: This is an insta-love non-shifter mpreg story. It’s a short cute read that had me saying aww a couple of times. Hillbilly Diner’s Omega was also my first Corie Rosling book, and if she has a new narrator, it won’t be my last listen. Otherwise, I’ll have to stick to their written books.

This is an Alpha/omega world built well in the short amount of time the author had here. I found myself pushing for Dia to have his HEA within a few minutes of starting the book. He’s a sweetheart who tried to take care of everyone he could.

Jace is a proud hillbilly that made me smile. He may be older, but it wasn’t because he was out doing every omega he could, but that he just hadn’t found the right one for him yet. I liked that since we see too many man-whore-to-perfect-mate stories out there nowadays.

I liked how there was no angst between the MCs, just the back story and the ass that Dai was with before. I was a little off about Dai’s parents and why they weren’t there for him, but it was just a niggle, nothing major.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The narrator was awful

The story itself was cute. Low angst insta-love is sometimes something I need to refresh myself after I've read something dark. However, the narrator was awful. First, his older-sounding voice was not a good fit for this book. Secondly, his pauses and breaks made him sound like William Shatner as Captain Kirk. Thirdly, it seemed like he had no idea how punctuation worked when reading aloud. And finally, there was very little emotion in his narration, sometimes sounding almost monotone. This was the first book I've heard that he's narrated, but I will be avoiding anything he narrates from now on, even if it's a book from a favorite author.

good second chance

I thought Jace was compassionate from the beginning. I felt empathy for Dai and his abusive past, and was glad he found a safe haven and good man in Jace. I was happy for the unexpected fortune he so richly deserved. I loved how Jace stood by Dai with Roger and the life situations that came their way. Both main characters deserved the happiness they made together. I didn't really enjoy the narrator's tone/expression, but the storyline made up for it.

great book

Hillbilly Diner's Omega is the first book in The Sugar Beach series by Corie Rosling. Daily and Jace are great characters. They are so sweet and adorable together and the whole age gap thing is always sexy for me, oh and instalove is a win for me. These guys have a sweet true love that withstands and overcomes. . I truly enjoyed their story, a great start to a series.

Richard Sack narrates this story and does a good job bringing these characters to life for the listeners. It helped me fall into the story. Great job.

Fun story, likeable characters

I enjoyed this insta-love story about Dai and Jace. I loved that neither man fought the attraction they immediately felt, and they just went with it. There were several dramatic moments and bits of angst, but the overall feeling was sweet and happy. I am very much interested in finding out what happens next in the series, and I'm hopeful that someone will build a shelter for the homeless people Dai cares about so much.
The narrator's sometimes too-slow speech, and unnatural cadence was often distracting. He did speak clearly and did a good job making each character have a clearly defined voice; but I had a hard time focusing more on the words than his speech pattern.
This is my first book by this author, and I see that there are already more installments to the series available in e-book. I will be getting those, since this first book definitely pulled me into this world and made me want more.

A/O mpreg insta love

I thought the story/plot was good. Like the characters together. there was a small amount of repetitiveness but not enough to be annoying or turn me off the story.

Good Start.🙂

This was a good start, and very gratifying story to listen to. This was a heartfelt store. The narrator did a nice job in bringing the characters to life. The author has a talent for writing. The only reason I gave the story a 4☆ instead of 5, was I wished it had been longer. Besides that, I look forward in the next installment and complete series to become available on adubile. I'm invested!🙂

Short and Sweet

This was a little cheesy in a good way. Insta-love and to the point. Both Jace and Dai were sweet.

I liked that Jace was protective, compassionate and understanding. I think he was really good for Dai and just what he needed to feel safe and secure. Dai on the other hand was a bit on the plain side for me, but still a nice guy and good for Jace.

The narration was a bit choppy for my liking and I had to keep changing the speed just to make it flow better. I did like that he changed his voice some for the two characters. He spoke clearly and it was easy to understand, but it didn’t flow smoothly.

Hillbilly Diner's Omega

Dai is an omega on the run and when he stops at a small town, he never dreamed at what he would find. He is looking for food and odd jobs so that he can keep going and survive after his last alpha blacklisted him When he catches the eye of the alpha who owns the local diner Dai’s life soon changes but when his past comes calling what will happen?

This is a sweet story about finding love where you least expect it and fighting hard to keep it. Jace and Dai have a lot of hurdles to overcome and it was nice to see them work to overcome them and fight for their future. Not only do we see Dai and Jace’s relationship grow we also get to see the depth of many other relationships. The love and friendships are strong and deep. The author weaves a wonderful world with beautiful characters that pull you in and grab hold of your heart.
