About this listen
Sixteen-year-old Alex, his 12-year-old brother James, and their feisty friend Bim have a life-or-death mission. Ruthless armed thugs have captured two innocent wildlife conservationists: the boy's parents. Only the three children have time to engineer a rescue before the kidnappers reach their hideout high in the Himalayas. But saving them means crossing two high passes, negotiating terrifying crags, and fleeing from hungry predators. Surely they can't succeed?

Wonderful tale
Another great adventure story! I love how the author feeds us enticing descriptions of Himalayan culture and wildlife all while keeping us on the edge of our seats with the exciting plot. This was hugely enjoyable.

Nice read
The author has done another good job of giving us an intriguing plot with twists and turns while providing glimpses into the life, culture and scenery of the Himalayas. This should appeal to young adults and adults (read advanced teen readers and beyond). The author again proved she’s in the relatively small circle of authors who can provide a respectable performance of her own work.

enjoyable, fast-paced and easy to listen to
From a listener who is not able to post for themselves with their own account:
I listened to the audiobook version of this book.
This is the second book in the series. I have listened to the first and third books in the series.
I enjoyed hearing about how James and Alex met Bim. Bim is a Nepalese character and helps Alex and James save their parents.
I liked how the characters James and Alex are very mature and know so much and also are very brave. I like James’ character a lot more from reading this book than I did previously in the other books.
The story is set in Nepal. I found it very interesting how corrupt parts of the country were in the story that Alex and James could not get any help from the authorities for a lot of the story.
I enjoyed listening to the information about Nepal, its wildlife and culture. I found it interesting to learn about what mountain sickness is.
As with the other books in the series this book also comes with an accompanying pdf with pictures relating to the story which is great and the reading is great on the audiobook as well.
It is fast paced, easy to listen to and understand but also introduces the listener to possibly new places and themes which I personally have not read about outside of this series.
I would recommend it.
