Publisher's summary

She's innocent, inexperienced, virginal, and completely out of place. Now it's my personal mission to change all of that.

Sure, I'm also on this tour to play drums. A bit of blackmail got me the gig and out from under my parents' control. All I've ever wanted to is to live the rock star life, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Doesn't matter who gets hurt, as long as I get mine.

At least that's how it started.

This girl, she's gotten under my skin. Makes me want to be a better man. Has me dreaming of more than a life on the road. For a future of my own, as long as it includes her.

Only, I'm not sure how to make that happen. I can't tell her the truth, not when it won't set us free.

The books in the Off Track Records series are interconnected stand-alone romance novels, and can be listened to in any order.

Detour: Trent and Lexi's Story

Derail: Sean and Jess's Story

Hinder: Leighton and Opal's Story

Replay: Austin and Jayla's Story

Rockin' performance!

Hi! I am Kacey Shea, the author of Hinder. I'm so happy to bring my rock stars audio and am glad to see so many listeners enjoying them.
Jason Clarke blows me away with his range and ability infuse consistent nuances into his voice for different characters. He's so enjoyable to listen to!
Savannah Peachwood is a long time favorite narrator of mine. She takes on Opal's innocence and youth in a way that draws the listener in from the first chapter.
This story moves fast and follows two "outsiders" as they navigate life on the road with a group of famed rock stars. With outstanding narration, I think you're going to enjoy this book!

4.5 Heart Melting Stars!

Hinder continues to strike all the right notes in this sexy, and emotional rock-star romance. This is a funny, sweet, and sizzling love story of an innocent small town girl and a rock star. They are from completely different worlds but are both looking for a family and a place to belong. We met Opal, Lexi's sweet and sheltered sister, in previous books. Lexi and Trent have hired her as Trent's PA and she will travel with his band, Three Ugly Guys, while she figures out what she wants out of life. The band is once again in need of a drummer. Leighton is a musical prodigy who loves creating music. He has lived a privileged life and is headed to Julliard in the fall. He isn't excited to study classical music but wants to create his own music instead, against his parents wishes. When something happens with his Uncle Bedo, he is given the chance of a lifetime to play drums with 3UG. Leighton is excited and works hard to win over Trent, Sean, and Austin, which he does easily. Leighton and Opal have instant attraction and fiery chemistry, but mostly they both are looking for the same thing, a deep connection and love. They are kindred spirits and are so perfect and adorable together as they get to know each other. But Opal is family to the band and they are very protective of her. Opal may be sweet and innocent but she has a strength that lets all the guys know she isn't timid or helpless. Leighton was so sweet and thoughtful with Opal, they really made a great couple. But they both have secrets that could hurt the band and tear them both apart before they really have a shot. This is an emotional story that took my breath away. It could be a little frustrating at times, and I wanted to yell, but mostly it was sweet and fun, and I fell hard for them, cheering for their HEA.
Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood's narration was so moving as they brought these intriguing characters to life. Clarke was fabulous as Leighton and delivered the perfect balance of arrogance, yet sweet, and caring. He really made me feel Leighton's love of creating music. Peachwood was perfectly cast as Opal, nailing her 'sweet, girl next door, but could stand her ground, and not pulling punches' personality, and that shone through beautifully in her performance. I loved listening to both Clarke and Peachwood as they drew me in and made this story even more sizzling and exciting!

Another hit by Kacey Shea

*ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review*

Hinder is the 3rd book in Kacey Shea's Off Track Records series; however, it can be read as a standalone book. This is the story of Leighton and Opal's path to love. The narration was terrific and brought each character's storyline to life, and I felt like I was part of the story, not just listening to it.

Leighton was a very well developed character who comes from money; however, he wants freedom from the "chains" that his wealthy upbringing requires. He is a musical prodigy who comes to the band 3UG from his uncle. Opal is the opposite of Leighton in every way possible, having grown up in a very conservative family. These two characters' attraction to each other is instantaneous, and while they are attracted from the start, they have many obstacles to overcome for their HEA.

I highly recommend this book and can't wait for Austin's story!

Reads Young Adult More Than the Other Series Books

I didn’t expect to like Leighton and Opal, since Leighton was a brand new character for this book. I do though. Which is why it is frustrating that Leighton doesn’t just come clean earlier on.

Spoilers ahead - don’t keep reading if you aren’t into that.

I know Leighton is young, but it seems to me he could have reasoned that the band needs a permanent drummer, he’s absolutely qualified for the job, and their manager is fscking them over; if he came clean to Trent, why wouldn’t the band back him up? Leighton knows the band is dissatisfied with Vito, he has the proof that could reasonably justify Sean and Trent feeling Vito is sketchy. Why would a band stick with someone they don’t trust? Sure, loyalty is nice, but the band could go to the label and request a change of manager.

Idk. I know the drama has to be there for there to be some suspense and eventual black moment and growth, but this just seems too drawn out.

More than 5 Stars!

Another fantastic book in the Off Track Records Series! Opal and Leighton are strong characters from two different backgrounds and their story couldn’t be sweeter! I enjoyed them both so much! I didn’t want this book to end! Just like the first two in this series (Detour and Derail) I always just want to stay in the 3UG world for as long as possible. I was on the edge waiting to see how everything played out and I was not disappointed! Kacey Shea, thank you for another beautiful story! I’m excited to see what’s next!

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood. Both are a perfect fit these two characters and really captured Opal and Leighton’s personalities beautifully.

LOVE

I can't get enough of these rockstars and the phenomenal narrators bringing them to life. Once again Jason Clarke knocks it out of the park with these male protagonists. Kacey Shea has got a great group of characters in this series and every time the next book comes out it feels like the first time I am getting to read them again. I love the Opal and Leighton addition to the series. Opal intrigued me from her very first mention in Detour and I was hoping she was get her own book and more than happy to have a hero like Leighton join Three Ugly Guys to round out the band. This series is addicting and I can hardly wait for the next installment. Austin has always been a favorite of mine!

A Beautiful Romance!

This book hits you with an potent emotional cocktail that will have your head spinning and have your heart melting. A beautiful romance about two very different people, their unexpected attraction and feelings for each other. There is drama, angst, pain, secrets, heartache, lust, passion and love. Opal and Leighton's story will touch your heart and linger in your mind and for me that is what the very best books do. A truly amazing read! Dual narration on this book is basically the icing on the cake! The narrator's give an impeccable performance that I felt perfectly matched the characters and the story being told. Simply excellent!!

Third times definitely a charm!

Book Three in the Off Track Records series definitely continues the streak of awesome stories with these characters. This one kept me more on the edge just dying to know what would happen next!

New drummer and Trent gets an assistant?!

This series keeps getting better and better. I was so glad to finally get Opal's story. She has been through a lot in her short life, up until meeting Lexi in Detour (book 1). Leighton was such the perfect guy and replacement drummer. He has also been through a lot and his family is, well, quite interesting. We get a little of Beato's back story in here as well and it's safe to say, he was not my favorite in this book. Seriously, Opal and Leighton were everything in this story and I hope we get more of them in Austin's book. Jason Clarke was awesome as Leighton and Savannah Peachwood's southern accent was the perfect Opal too!!!
