His Return is the third book in the HIS Series by Ms. Kell. Emily has been in love with Jake for as long as she could remember. On the evening of her eighteenth birthday, she goes to him, but it all goes south quickly. Now, four years later, he’s back, ready to claim Emily, and bring her back to their family. But it’s not so easy. She’s hurt, has a child, and danger is stalking her. Can Jake keep Emily safe and win back her love, or will his past and her danger rip everything they love apart?

Holy smokes! Y’all, this book broke my heart and then mended it back together, at least twice! Jake and Emily’s story is tragic at times, with whirlwind romance, extreme passion, and deadly danger, with a side of humor, and an amazing little girl that rounds everything out. Mr. Beck did an awesome job bringing the characters to life, giving everyone a personality through his voice, and did amazing justice to Ms. Kell’s work! This series has been intense, but full of love, and this book holds a place in my heart. I highly recommend this series and this book to any romantic suspense lover!

This book has enjoyable characters and lots of great suspense. There is a heart wrenching scene near the end. The narration is expressive and good. Very entertaining!

This was a good read. Not my favorite of this series, lots of melodrama, but still interesting. There is steam and story, which many authors forget to include something to keep the listeners interest. Worth the time spent.

This is the third audible I have heard in this series, and as with the others, it’s another great audiobook. Though each one is a standalone, you would benefit in reading/listening to the books 1 and 2 since most of the characters participate in all of the stories.
This one I found to be more emotional than the previous two . The main characters are Jake Cavanaugh and Emily Hamilton. Jake was the foster boy that the Hamilton’s took under their wing, later became an FBI agent, went undercover and was captured and tortured.
Emily fell in love with him when she was 6 years old and when she turned 18 she went to Jake’s bedroom changing her and his life forever.
He was beaten and thrown out of the house by Emily’s brother AJ without knowing the consequences of that night. Everyone was filled with regrets and now that he is back , all their lives will once again change.
The plot is engaging and the characters are complex. The story is filled with suspense, bad guys, hunky good guys and of courses romance.
But it’s also a story about family, loyalties, integrity and sacrifices. Not everything is black and white and not everyone finds their happiness. Much like life which is what makes this one a very touching audiobook.
The narrator, Carson Beck, once again does a great job and brings the story to life.

HIS return was a steamy exciting page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Sheila Kell wrote great characters, and I love a good second chance romance. Jake ran away after a night with Emily. I love family series, and this one has lots of twists and turns!
