Publisher's summary

After "I do" Ajax Kouros had a plan. Being jilted at the altar? Not part of it - especially when facing a thousand guests and one hundred reporters. His company's future depends on marrying a Holt, and when his bride's sister steps up to the altar, can he say no? Leah Holt grew up watching her beautiful socialite sister hang on Ajax's arm. Now she has the chance to stand in the spotlight and save her family's fortune. But saying "I do" is only the beginning, and Leah soon realizes that the man she married is far more complex and distracting than the boy of her childhood fantasies.

Well that was awful

It started off ok. Then it slowly descended into way too much inner monologue. We are reminded, chapter after chapter, over and over again, why things have happened, why they are the way they are, feel what they feel. The female MC flip flops between “all I have left is my pride” and “I have no price left”, as it suits her depending on the conversation. She spends the better part of the book trying to convince her husband to sleep with her, while of course, reiterating that she doesn’t want him or feel anything for him. It’s a book full of contradictory arguments. Then it reaches a level of corniness that is just surreal. I would absolutely skip this book.

wait a minute this is a Harlequin!?

A few points in this book made me think I was reading Shades of Grey luckily it doesn't go much farther than being tied up because I don't like the BDSM scene all in all this book was pretty well written I'm just surprised it was kind of dark for a Harlequin romance story which I usually read because they are usually a light and fluffy read but this book was not the case this book was dark and touched on some really seedy topics unlike other Harlequin romances that just stay on stuff like car crashes, felling loved ones in the past, or one night stand issues I usually read these books but I'm tired of the heavy are novels so if you're looking for a break too this book is not it it's deep it's dark it's good but it's not fluffy...

His Ring

I DNFd this book. The h spends the entire book chasing the H. Telling herself not to chase his, or not to ask this, or do that, that will show her hand and literally in the same breathe does it. She had no back bone was a complete fool and doormat. He was constantly talking about how “bad” grand his past and family are/were and saying rude, hateful things to the h just to get her to back of then “reminiscing” over her leaving him candy and how he saw she was getting too close and had to help her back away. I didn’t even bother to finish after they had sex for the first time and he leaves her alone, she turns around and “avoids” him the next morning then as soon as she seems him she has verbal diarrhea telling him he MUST sleep in their bed blah blah blah.... grow some lady!
