About this listen

Editorial reviews

Was ist Leben?

Great audio book in German

What did you love best about Homo Faber?

I like how Homo Faber does not hold anything back when he talks about what he is thinking. Sometimes I think what he thinks is a little inappropriate, but it gives a good insight into the human condition.

What did you like best about this story?

Greek. Tragedy.

Any additional comments?

I use this audio book as a companion to reading the eBook. I read as the reader reads out loud. It helps me with my German and I get to hear a great story -- read by a native speaker -- at the same time.

to understand the sense of life

If you could sum up Homo Faber in three words, what would they be?

don't rely on coincidence, decide in time what do you really want (or desire)

Any additional comments?

this novel gives a stimulus to contemplation for people with sufficient life experience,
it is quite unfit as recommended school reading

Klassiker perfekt gelesen

Wonderful book, wonderful performance

I have to say that I have really enjoyed listening to this book. It is also a great book if you are learning German as its language it’s quite straightforward. It is a fascinating story.

Interesting to begin

What follows is a stream of consciousness and descriptions of places the main character is visiting. The last 3 hours was excruciatingly boring.
