Hooked on Hooked By Fly Fishing

Captivating stories of a lifetime of fly-fishing with family and friends narrated by the author who brings the stories to life with humor and vivid descriptions. Made me pine to be casting a fly in a stream.

Did not disappoint!

Graham really captured my attention from the start. I’ve fished most of the rivers mentioned in his book and it brought back memories of my own.

I hope to run into Graham on a river someday….

EXCEPTIONAL

I am awarding "Hooked by Fly Fishing" FIVE STARS for what it is and what it is not. In this day/age of wars, pandemic, political dissension, social anger, misinformation and hate, this book soothed my psyche and calmed my blood pressure! This book, not one I'd select based on the title, was highly recommended to me. Once I started listening to Graham Mott narrate his fly-fishing adventures in his unpretentious, gravelly voice, I realized that I was transported to a real world of real events and real/genuine people who were true to the sport of fly fishing but do not turn it into a life or death, win or lose, right or wrong competitive battle. They educate themselves on the many varieties of fish, seek out the fish in stream pools, perfect their casting technique and totally lose themselves in the process. By releasing their catch, they aid in caring for the sport and earth. Each story was a tribute to the sport and men/women who are devoted to it. There is much to learn here. I suggest reading/listening to this book in your favorite chair, covered in your favorite Afghan, your Labrador Retriever by your side (or cat on your lap), a gentle fire in the fireplace and a hot cup of cocoa, coffee or tea to sip and allow the good and gentle feelings of life and sport to surround and calm you, just for a short time...until that other real world rushes back in.
