In the game of love, who will melt first?

LUKE: No one seems to comprehend the pressures of playing for an NCAA college hockey team and being in the pre-med program. With the NHL draft and graduation looming, I can’t handle any distractions in my life. Discipline and focus are my two best friends. The absolute last thing I need my senior year is to be roped into some campus social media project with a sexy junior who changes majors more times than she does clothes. Yet here I am, posing for a calendar I had no intention of participating in, attending parties, and making out, among other things, in public. And yeah, if I’m smiling the whole way, it must be because I’ve finally cracked. That’s the only explanation why I’ve let Jax sashay her way into my every thought. Puck me! My world has been irrevocably turned upside down once already, and I won’t let it happen again—even if it means becoming the “Ice Man” that everyone calls me.

JAX: It might have taken me three years to decide on a major, but I’ve got it all figured out now, and I’m going to win a coveted communications internship too. I just need the grumpy hockey captain to relax a bit and help me help his team. So what if I know diddly about the game and that he won’t even let me past the front door? I’ve got this! And if I’m shivering at his touch, it’s because he’s so cold, not because he makes me hot. Nope, despite the rumors circulating on campus, we’re only spending every waking minute together because of my assignment, that’s all. Although, maybe we’re dating? I don’t know, but I plan to find out! Because it’s starting to feel real, especially his kisses. Yup, I’m totally pucked!

Excellent performance by narrators

Audio review: I love dual narration. It really adds to a story, and these narrators were excellent. They were each clear and easy to understand and it felt like they almost BECAME the characters. The performance elevated a four-star story into a five-star audiobook.
Story review:
MMC/FMC- Luke and Jax
POV- 1st person dual
Genre- Contemporary Romance
Sub Genre- Sports Romance (hockey)
Heat- 🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋. They do the thing after a lot of buildup.
Series? Y
Safety? Y
Triggers- Explicit Erotic Content, Language, On-Ice Violence (because hockey )
Tropes- Grumpy/Sunshine, Forced Proximity, College Romance, New Adult, Opposites Attract.
What I liked- this book was unusual in New Adult Romance in that there wasn’t wangst. The heroine was likable. The hero was intriguing. And it was sweet to see them fall for each other. This book is also proof that it’s not doing the actual deed that makes the book hot; this book was insanely hot because of the build up, from even before the first kiss.

A Romantic, Steamy College Romance

Thank you to Tara September for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I absolutely loved my time listening to this. I adored Jax and Luke's relationship and their character development throughout the book. And I love how each books nods to the other characters, and has them appear as they experience their own stories. I read Blinded Me With Science after this, and I cannot wait to read them in order and re-experience it again. I cannot recommend this series enough because each story is truly their own story, but they interconnect. And I loved Thatcher College and the world created in this series. I cannot wait to read more from this series and from Tara in the future.

Hot

Loved the dual narration of Laura Horowitz and Aaron Shedlock.

Luke is a college hockey player who is heading to go pro after graduation. Jax is strait-laced and grumpy. Jax she is the opposite full of light and sunshine. They’re forced to work together and before he knows he is falling for the smart and strong woman.
Jax can not believe the grumpy hockey play is getting under her skin.

This book has humour, angst, tension, and romance.

Dual narration for the win

Hot and Cold is the third book in the Lesson in Love series and can be read/ listened to as a standalone story. A good amount of spicy and the perfect amount of backstory makes this book a great read/listen. Jax (Jaquline) is in the running for a communications internship for her major and has to work at improving the following of the hockey team's social media. Her point of contact is none other than the captain and the guy she had a not so friendly run in with the day before.
new adult, college hocky, enemies to lovers, spicy, dual narration.

Opposites Attract - Combustibly So!

“Ice Man” Luke and Jax are opposites brought together by circumstance and a class project. I loved the banter between these two, and the frustration aspects were incredibly hot! So many great secondary characters, so much amazing chemistry between Luke and Jax - this was a fantastic read!
And the audiobook was even better - Laura Horowitz and Aaron Shedlock did an amazing job as Jax and Luke.

Perfect Name!

Awe! I loved this audiobook! Jax and Luke were so adorable. Jax is a TT influencer and college student. Luke is the captain of the college hockey team. 🤔😆

I loved the slow burn, but somehow, a little insta love, but their love story was adorable. I have to say, I can't wait until hockey season. 😂

The narrators were top notch, and I absolutely applaud you for having a dual narration! I adore when you feel like they were in the same booth recording!

I would have loved just a little more courtship, but that's just a me problem. 😂

Talk about the last 20 mins! 🌶😂❤️

Hot and Cold is a hilarious, heartwarming rom com

Story Impressions – He’s called Ice Man, but Jax is about to melt his defences. Hot and Cold is a hilarious, heartwarming campus hockey romance. Tara September combines several popular tropes and creates a college romance impossible to resist. This is book three in Tara September’s Lessons in Love series. I have to give the author props for continuity. I’ve read the previous two books. All three books take place at the same time. It would be understandable for the author to slip and drop the ball on the continuity. Book one was published two years ago. The continuity is flawless and impressive. Well done! The narration is simply incredible. It’s dual narration and these two make this romance audiobook outstanding. I couldn’t stop listening. The best audiobook I’ve listened to all year. If you love campus romance, hockey romance, grumpy/sunshine romance, or just romance in general, you’ll fall in love with Hot and Cold.

Narrators’ overall voice –Aaron and Laura narrate this campus romance to perfection. Their voices are engaging yet don’t detract from the overall story.

Do the narrators fit the characters? Yes, the voice actors use their voices like instruments, differing them to fit the characters. They are the characters, just like I imaged their voices to sound like.

Narrators’ reading style –There’s an effortlessness to Aaron and Laura’s style which makes listening to a breeze.

Narrators’ impact on reading experience –Aaron and Laura make the characters come alive. Readers can enjoy listening to them and ponder this delightful hockey romance.

Narrators’ pacing –The pacing is even and doesn’t detract the reader’s attention.

Audiobook flow –The audiobook flows well. I found myself listening late into the night.

What makes this audiobook unique –What I found so unique about this audiobook was the way Aaron and Laura convey emotion and tension.

Would I recommend this audiobook –Yes, I would recommend it to any listener. You’ll be entertained for hours.
