Publisher's summary

Once betrothed to a man who promised to circumcise her. Kara knew she had only one escape.

She ran, stumbling into a world of pain and blood thirst she’d never known existed. A creature of the night turned her into something else. Not long after, she’s abandoned by her maker, leaving her with no answers and an uncontrollable hunger. She broke vampires' most sacred law—don’t kill humans. Trapped in the underground prison for her kind, until an earthquake hits, freeing her and many others. With the offer of redemption, she’ll do anything to stay out of that earthen coffin for the rest of eternity.

As long as Cain could remember, emotions barraged him from all sides, suffocating him under the weight. A former hunter turned vampire. The last thing he expected was running into his fated mate, Kara, or to believe her so thoroughly when she swore she’d never take another human life.Kara feels none of Cain’s certainty, as she sinks into her grief over the sin she couldn’t wipe away. What they are together terrifies her—he terrifies her. But time is running out. With her rejection, the sands have begun to fall on them. Now they must come together… before they’re both lost forever to insanity.

Vampires are disappearing, the cause—an organization with no name. All that’s known… they’re human. Kara’s and Cain’s laws strictly forbid the murder of humans, but is it avoidable when their enemy closes in on all sides?

Vampires and a Mystery

Phenomenal vampire story that had me on the edge of my seat not only the relationship between Kara and Cain but also the mysterious disappearances of vampires. The story was action-packed, suspenseful, dramatic and heart stopping and I loved every minute of it. This book may be short but when I say it packs a bite it really packs quite a bite. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires and mystery but only it you are over 18 because it does have a little steam in it. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.

Action-packed vampire story

This newest installment of the Hotel Lamia series doesn't disappoint. More of the intriguing backstory, another fated mates couple of Equals, additional witty t-shirts for April, and lots of action make for a great story.

As with the previous books in this series she's narrated, the narrator does an admirable job with the multiple characters' voices and accents needed for telling the story.

TW: extreme torture descriptions
