About this listen

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Hotel Valhalla Guide to the Norse Worlds by Rick Riordan, read by Kieran Culkin.

Discover the lore behind the fantastical world of Magnus Chase.

Helgi - the hotel manager - created this book for each hotel guest, so that he wouldn't have to answer so many questions at the front desk.

It has short entries about the deities, mythical beings, and fantastic creatures from the nine Norse worlds, and also contains bonus material, including interviews, newspaper articles, short stories and more. The tone is humorous, complementing Rick's series.

Given that it's not meant for vocal peformance, the narrator did a great job. The book itself is cute, has some fun ideas. Of course it's very different from a "normal" Rick Riordan book and as far as plan mythology goes its not actually that informative , so I'd only advise listening only if you're already very invested with the Magnus Chase world and want to experience some more of its charm, NOT if you're looking for a good read or to learn something about norse mythology.

Nice
