Lives hang in the balance in this story of romantic suspense featuring a strong heroine, a sweet love story, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

Running from vile rumors and merciless ridicule, thirteen-year-old Nicole Beaumont flees her home in Parsons Valley, Georgia. She leaves Chris behind, the boy who had been her best friend for life, her soul mate, the one with whom she was supposed to spend her life, and she takes refuge at a boarding school in rural Pennsylvania. Chris had betrayed her, and Nicole vows she will never trust another person as she had trusted Chris.

But when Nicole meets Richard, she finds herself unable to deny the connection between them. He accepts Nicole as she is. He keeps her secrets. When others doubt her, he stands in her defense. They begin to fall in love.

When Chris re-enters her life unexpectedly, Nicole is thrust into a deadly game of good versus evil, that pits Chris, the boy she once loved, against Richard, the man who loves her, now, a game that tests her loyalties and puts her newfound love to the test.

With its romantic, true-to-life coming-of-age story, House Beside the River will keep you enthralled until the very last page. One-click House Beside the River today!

It was distracting to hear the AI version. The voice did not sound real. There were several distinct mispronounced words.

I was interesting things about how one event could change your life.
I can’t recommend it

I did not live the Ai version.

I could not get through this entire audiobook. The performer does not sound like a professional. I could not get interested in the story or the characters.

Glad I did not waste a credit on this one.

Good mystery mixed with childhood trauma all adults have hanging around in the background. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the electronic reader. It never catches emotion, urgency, or 8ndividuality of the characters.

Good book, just wish it weren't electronically read
