About this listen
Sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are those that matter most.
Following a tragic accident, Ella O'Hanlon flees to the other side of the world in an attempt to escape her grief, leaving behind the two people she blames for her loss: Aidan, the love of her life, and Jess, her spoilt half-sister. In London Ella is taken in by her beloved uncle Lucas, whose extraordinary house holds many wonderful memories for her. Along with other members of the very colourful Fox family, Lucas helps Ella to see that she is not the only one still hurting, and that forgiveness can be the greatest healer in a family and in a marriage.
For anyone who has ever loved and lost, this is an exquisitely moving and life-affirming novel by the internationally best-selling author of Lola's Secret.

Another of Monica McInerney's excellent novels. It was tragic and heart warming keeping my interest up throughout. Great characters. The ending was predictable and a little weak but apart from that it was well worthwhile reading.

My first audio book of Monica's
What did you like best about House of Memories? What did you like least?
I liked the story. I didn't like the English narration.
What did you like best about this story?
Good characters, likeable and memorable.
What does Catherine Milte bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
good accent change from character to character, ie especially male to female, young to old, country to country. I would however have preferred the main accent to be an Australian one. It is just a personal choice.
Was House of Memories worth the listening time?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I love Monica McInerney books and in fact have met Monica. She puts so much feeling into her books. I love her Australian/Irish connection. I look forward to the next book but think I'd prefer to read, rather than have through Audio.

Love and loss
Sensitively told with many likeable characters and new locations. Moira McInerney’s stories never fail to draw the reader in so that you become like a family member.
