Plato said that philosophy is preparation to die. There are only two options: be prepared or don't be prepared. Why do we die at all? What is the relationship between sin and death? William Perkins (1558-1602) was a leader of the Puritan movement in England. He was a conformist member of the Church of England but was sympathetic to some non-conformists and opposed attempts to impose conformity. He was a fellow at Christ Church, Cambridge.
