About this listen
A personal brand can not only set you apart - it can also free you from the “employee mindset” that’s holding you back and preventing you from performing your best and reaching your goals.
Certified professional coach and speaker Kanika Tolver shows you how to shed this mindset and create a personal brand that serves your career vision. From recognizing the value of your unique knowledge to drafting a “career floor plan” and building the right professional network, Tolver will reframe how you look at your relationship with work and help you transform from an employee into a personal brand.
Through her techniques, you’ll learn how to uncover the unique value you bring to any role and become the true champion of your own career. At work, at interviews, at networking events, online - embracing your brand will help you display your strengths, meet the right people, and set a clear path to the future you want.
Key takeaways:
- How to change your mindset and gain the confidence to challenge, innovate, and make a name for yourself
- Why you need to be the architect of your career and how to create your “career floor plan”
- How to leverage your education, experience, and expertise to build a personal brand that’s differentiated and sought after

No new information
This is a great reminder for those in traditional jobs, but there is no new information here. I like her personal analogy of the house, but nothing that stands out.

Its not only Entrepreneurs who need to learn about Personal Branding. .
Konika gave examples and analogies that I could relate to and easy to understand and see myself in. Great points in branding yourself that is not reliant on social media only but using people's skills and learning from others in person and virtual. Personal branding as a career professional is not something you hear about a lot

Special sauce
A great motivator to make that jump. I personally am re branding from US Govt to private sector. Both companies are some of the largest employers in the world.

SHORT AND INFORMATIVE
I loved this audible original, it was short and concise, loved the analogies and the little nuggets the author presented. Definitely took notes and will apply in my career floor plan. It is practical and can be referred to in many situations.

not bad
many very basic entry level ideas, but probably useful for many. this could have, and should have gone more indepth, pretty much every concept in here I've been teaching friends for 5-10 years. so it's nice to see others pushing the concepts, but it has to be taken deeper to really be successful.

To the Point
The first thing I do when I'm going to listen to an Audiobook Is to check how much time I'm going to have to spend listening to it. So when I saw how short this particular audiobook was my 1st thought was how can I get any real information out of something so short. I've wasted my time on plenty o f audio books before. But I was pleasantly surprised with all the valuable information the author presented. When it comes to branding, I do that very well at work but I also know I am very underappreciated for my skills and talent. The author provides excellent advice on how to recognize when it is time to breakup with your current job when it longer fulfills your needs and how to put yourself out there prior to the breakup. Definitely not a waste of 27 minutes of your time but an investment into yourself.
