Finally advise without the author bragging and boasting and meism I, I ,I me me me you can be like me, but not giving step or how to do what they did.
this books one of a few that's actually showing us how to do things and not beating around the bush.

Not Recommended

I do have something positive to say, but let me explain the one star first.

Much of the advice given, I feel would cause injury and harm to budding new writers, and I can’t recommend the advice in this book, nor can I support many of this author’s suggestions,

One thing I do agree with and believe the author is spot on about, because I’ve seen it happen to me: We often use an excuse of outlining, planning, doing extensive and detailed character sheets and story maps on plot to justify or cover up the reason we’re not writing.

It’s a genesis each new writer has to go through—letting go of your fear and finishing the novel.

The author identifies this correctly and reasons with you to attack that fear.

Listen, it’s your story in your head, and regardless of genre, you’re the only one who can write it down as a novel.

You don’t need this book to do that, but you do need not to give up.

Let’s face it—words are practically free.

Yes, you may have a chaotic, busy lifestyle, but if you are really a writer you will find a way to do it, and make the time.

No one has to be told they are a writer. You either do it or you don’t. You either succeed at it or fail,

It’s up to you.

No book, including this one, is going to change that for you.

Decent

I've done a lot of research on writing and the advice here is controversial at times (which I did not ding him for; sharing your experiences and opinions as a prolific writer is all fair game, it just would be more persuasive if his footprint were a little larger).

But overall, I didn't find this book to be as conclusive, detailed, and thorough as other resources online. I do recommend the author's YouTube site though as he has multiple really good videos on a variety of subjects. Perhaps if I'd come across his book earlier in my journey it would have been more impactful 🤷‍♂️
