The premise has potential and I’m excited for future installments.
This seems to me like a young adult novel with a similar vein to Supernatural (which I love!) The last chapter where the action becomes very detailed and gruesome, is where it might be too much to be classified as young adult. Jeremy and Em are great characters and I do look forward to future adventures with them. I'm hoping that in future novel(s), the author explores more about the world of hunters and Jeremy and Em's lives. This really could've been a longer novel and added some of these details. It is a good premise and a fun story, just went by very quickly.
Now for the audiobook...I'll preface this by saying, I'm fairly particular about my audiobook narrators, I haven't narrowed down what I like and don't like; I just know when I start listening. I did listen to the audiobook all the way through, but had such trouble focusing. The narrator really wasn't for me and made it hard to listen. While listening, I was struck by how young/juvenile the narrator sounded. It just seemed an unlikely choice for a horror novel and I wasn't certain at that time if it was the narrator or the story that made it seem like a novel for young adults, which I wasn't expecting.
I can't recommend the audiobook, but that's my personal preferences. I do recommend the actual book though. It was a fun and quick read and I will check out subsequent stories in this series.

Great listen
I couldn't wait to listen to this book and am fully impressed with the characters, the story, the writing, and the narrator. The narrator pulls you in after just reading the first few sentences in Chapter 1. The author painted an amazing story about hunters, shapeshifters, and hunting down the beings that wish to stop them. Great book!

Wonderful!
I love this novella so much! I physically read it when it was first out. I'm so glad it's available on Audible. I listened to it when I was at home recovering from the worst of my neck/nerve injury. It really made my day. The narrator, Kayla Guazzo is fantastic and emphasizes the tension in the action scenes!

Monster Hunting Siblings
This is a well-written and enjoyable quick read. Jeremy and Emily are siblings and monster hunters, traveling around in search of vampires, demons and more. When they encounter an unknown threat, they are exposed to another monster they didn't even know existed.
The story moves at a quick pace and kept me reading until I was through with this short book. Suitable for the YA audience, it is also a good book for those of us of an older age who just like a fun read. There was a bit of gore, but nothing too violent. I hope that the author continues writing more adventures featuring this duo. The narrator did an amazing job and her performance added a lot to the book. And, a special shout out to the designer of this beautiful cover!

Pleasantly Surprised
I'm not into stories of vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters. But this was a nice surprise, the story was entertaining for me. I can't wait to read more from this author and her characters.

great quick listen
I truly relished delving into this fast-paced and action-packed story that was a quick read. The dynamic duo of sibling monster hunters added an extra layer of excitement to the narrative, especially with the inclusion of vampires and shape shifters. The creative use of a screwdriver as a weapon was a brilliant touch that added a unique and unexpected element to the story. Overall, I found myself thoroughly entertained by the thrilling plot and engaging characters in this fantastic tale.

Fans of Supernatural will love this short story!
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
Emily and Jeremy live a life that their mother never wanted for them, and her death thrust them into that very lifestyle.
A decade before, they were living like normal high school students, only worrying about popularity, sports/grades, and fitting in. One fateful night, Emily decided to go out, something her mother warned her never to do. She found out and met Emily at the movie theater; unfortunately, so did the creature their mother had been hunting. She made an exchange: her life for Emily's safety. The monster did just that, leaving the teenagers orphaned and completely changing the direction of their lives.
They decided to do the exact thing their mother was trying to hide from them - devote their lives to protecting humans from the monsters of this earth, and to find and destroy their mother's killer.
This was a short, but strong, introduction to the series and to the author. I love Supernatural and got strong vibes of the show (hello Jeremy and his three slices of pie!) The main monsters of this book were so fascinating, the stunning cover matching it so well. I hope the next entry to The Monster Hunters is longer because I felt like this one was just too short. I'm greatly looking forward to reading more in the future!
