About this listen
Love will capture its prey, especially on a Predator Planet.
Esra Weaver, exo-geologist, is hired for the Kerberos-90 Mining expedition, but when she awakens in her Emergency Egress Pod on a tropical, uninhabited planet, she realizes her life has taken a drastic turn for the disastrous. "Predator Planet" tries to kill her at every turn, and Esra soon discovers it also harbors a mysterious alien out for her blood. When danger and death converge on her, her hunter becomes her savior, and when her feelings for him evolve, she realizes she must battle not only Predator Planet but also her past to make room in her heart for an unexpected but passionate future.
Naraxthel Roika, Mighty Hunter of the Ikthekal race, discovers the existence of a spy on his hunting grounds planet. With blood and fury in his veins, he tracks her down, only to discover that she isn’t a spy at all, but a mighty little hunter in her own right. Against centuries of tradition and physiology, Naraxthel’s heart-home begins the biological changes that indicate he has discovered his mate. He tries to fight what his heart is trying to tell him, but love doesn’t distinguish between star systems and it won’t stop growing, even if the consequence is exile.
Together, along with Naraxthel’s hunting party, they must embark on a dangerous and desperate journey to reclaim not only Naraxthel’s place in his society but also find a way for them to be together.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Only romance
I am an avid reader of alien romances. Over the years I’ve become to know exactly what I like in this genre. Primarily, a lot of romance where the couple is building a tension & anticipation to finally reach that erotic point in the story. However, I’ve discovered that a lot of the alien romance genre is really erotica with a thin veneer of romance - the couple jumps into bed before the first chapter is over. However, this story is pure romance. This story is full of adventure with a touch of comfort and joy. The only reason why I gave it four stars for the overall was because there were points that it did drag a little bit. And I gave it four points to the narrator because there were no efforts to change the voices when someone was speaking. Sometimes I will lose track of who’s speaking when both people are speaking in the first person in the same voice. This would’ve been a excellent product to have two narrators because each chapter rotated between the two characters.

So good
I’m really upset that I took so long to read this. I’ve seen it recommended many times but kept putting it off.
It is such a good story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. The characters are interesting and well written. The world building is good.
Overall I liked the narration. There isn’t a huge distinction between voices, but the performance is good. I love his accent and I hope he continues reading the next books.

Well made story
The story was nice and interesting, it definitely is worth a read. However definitely a pg13 rating, the male and female lead kissed, twice, and nothing further.

A very slow but great story
This book was not at all what I expected. It is not really a romance book when compared to all the books in the romance genre. There is just budding love and a kiss toward the end. But, I must say "wow!" because Vicky Holt created an alien language and the alien world in which this story took place is fascinatingly scary.
This book is quite slow at times and perfect to listen to while doing a task. The world and its creatures are crazy dangerous. The warriors are equipped with dealing with them. But, our heroine Ezra is not. Looking forward to the second book to see how the story will continue. Lots of intrigue and more perils were introduced toward the end of the book.
The story is from both hero and heroine POV. I had difficulty with Paul Metcalfe narrating the female portions. But, overall he did a good job.

Awesome Science Fiction Story
This was my first experience with Vicky L Holt's work, and it won't be my last. I enjoyed the story a lot. Esra Weaver's emergency pod landed on an uncharted planet. Naraxthel Roika, Mighty Hunter of the Ikthekal race, hunted for food on this particular planet for his people. Thinking that Esra might be a spy, Naraxthel Roika started hunting for her. The worldbuilding was extensive. There were some fascinating animals and plants depicted. The characters were complex and personable. There were some moments of humor. Paul Metcalfe's narration was good, but it took me some time to become used to his accent. Once my ear became more accustomed to his cadence, I enjoyed his narration more. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

sweet audiobook
The sample doesn't do this book justice. Very witty with an annoying AI that assists the h while she trys to survive a planet full of large snakes, spiders, and other jurassic creatures. The narrator does a nice job with each character.
The h is amazing. She isn't whining, or freaking out scared. She just does what she has to do to survive. I was engaged throughout the story with these characters and how they interacted in this situation.
I usually like stories that are raw and steamy. This story has no bad words or sex, just a kiss and a sweet attraction between 2 people from different planets that were made for each other but such a great audiobook regardless.
I actually laughed out loud a few times. It's a very heartwarming story.
