About this listen

Hunting a Cat in Dogtown, the third book in The Serial Killer Anthology, is the exciting sequel to the popular Killer Dead, Victim Alive.

It picks up where the unexpected twists and turns of the first book’s cliffhanger ending left off: with a startling surprise at Santa Monica Police Lieutenant Greg Nichols' front door. Similar shocks greet others who were involved in investigating Chrissy Weeks' potential involvement in the earlier execution of Killer Dead, Victim Alive serial killer Keith Victor.

The deliveries are messages, and may even be threats. But Weeks is in custody. So how could she have managed?

And then Weeks’ jail experience takes an unexpected and difficult-to-comprehend turn, and a well-known screenwriter is found dead on the beach near the Santa Monica Pier – close to where Victor was left just weeks earlier. He’s been shot in the forehead, just like Victor was.

Both situations quickly escalate, and the Santa Monica Police, the FBI, and the Los Angeles Police Department face a new – and eerily similar – case even as their experience with Weeks again defies explanations.

Nichols and his partner, Sergeant Mollie Granger, find themselves dealing with mounting homicides, as well as multiple mysteries that jump from the Dogtown area of Santa Monica and Venice, to Hollywood’s entertainment industry, to the Mexican border – and back.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
