About this listen

The age of competitive strategy may be past. Sophisticated managers are learning that handsome returns come directly from superior strategic execution - not strategic planning. Their method: hustle and get it right. A look at the financial-services industry provides valuable lessons. Few of the bases of competitive advantage exist; there are no economies of scale, few obstacles to product imitation, and minimal costs and time required to bring out a new product. The organization's people and their executional skills - not the company's fixed assets - determine the bottom line. Subjects covered include competitive decision making, corporate strategy, strategic planning, and strategy implementation.©1986 Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP) (P)2007 No Hassle Inc. The narration was the worst that I've heard. No retakes, no editing.
The content rambled without structure.

Pointless

Unlike Deaver's own publications (e.g. Free Agent, No Employee World - which I like), I didn't get the sense that Deaver when narrating was really in the mind of the author. It seems a bit disconnected.

The narrator has a fantastic voice but must have read this entire book in one sitting with no retakes.

I have never heard more stumbling in an audio recording meant for public consumption.

It is so distracting you will not be able to focus on the content. Not worth the money at any price. Please re-record this program.

What disappointed you about Hustle as Strategy?

The worst narration I have ever heard. The narrator was correcting himself midway through sentences, there was awkward pauses and a huge variation in the pace that the article was being read at (even within the same sentence).

Any gems that are within this article are lost by the narration.
