Nope

I'll admit, the concept is good. The program begins with a hypnotic induction and then carries on with a couple of hours of soft, repetitive music. Well into the program, and presumably while you're asleep, the voice cuts in with a hypnosis session meant to relax you and relieve pain. More music, and finally, as the program nears the 8 hour mark, the music changes to gently bring you awake. At least, that's how it's supposed to work. And perhaps it does, with people who fall asleep easily. That person is not me, however. So instead, here's how it went: Lie down and finally find a comfortable sleep position. Put on the "bedphones" so I can listen all night. Get the sound adjusted. Try to relax. Listen to the nice woman's voice. Follow all the suggestions. The induction ends far too soon. I'm still wide awake. The music drifts on. I try to relax into it. Instead, my ADD brain says, "Well?" I'm waiting. I know the next bit is still two hours away, but I know it's coming. Listen, try to relax, listen, now feeling irritated. Music is becoming annoying. Get up. Get a drink of water. Try again. Finally drift off to sleep. The voice returns and anxious "always on alert" ADD brain goes, "HEY SOMEONE'S TALKING!" Now fully awake again. Try to relax and listen to the hypnotic bit. It's too short. I'm still wide awake. The music carries on. Now really irritated. Yank off the bedphones, switch off program and go back to ol' reliable, the "Sleep With Me" podcast, just to get to sleep. I tried it two more nights and still had the same results. So... if you're a normie who falls asleep without a problem and is easy to hypnotize, by all means give this a go. If you have a hyperalert brain like mine, and your automatic response to, "Just relax, deeper and deeper," is something like, "What? Why? What's going to happen?" or, "Okay, I'm relaxing just as hard as I can!" then this probably isn't going to work for you.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
