 I have always tried to impart a bit of knowledge, insight or comment on political and social issues with my jokes. Some of them may be just funny, others may be shocking with a funny side or need discussion to bring out the humour in it.

It is just funny. Jokes about the American Civil War, segregation and racism are a bit shocking but have a humorous side. They need a bit of discussion to improve the understanding of the humour.

I believe that these events should always be remembered, not only in the United States but around the world. They serve as a reminder, that some of our best intentions may have a terrible result on others. Like slavery, for example, they help build up the South, the owner provides free food and housing but they are not free men and women. They may have been looked after very well, but it is a terrible arrangement.
