The artful way the author explained plague through the character s.

I wish teachers and parents read this story with children-Let them see through largest number of "things" to give the "number" who "perished" a huge pile of something to get a feel for such large numbers. The false beliefs regarding the causes of the plague. Talk about fleas. If the people knew about the fleas, would more people be saved from getting sick?Yes, rodents killed and avoiding fleas. Polio was not a pandemic, but epidemic. if beach water and soap were outside inside and people washed their hands after changing a diaper or going to the bathroom and cleaning toilet and diaper changing surfaces, Polio would have been drastically reduced. But people didn't know. We also have vaccines today. There is a lot we can do to prevent the spread of sickness today.
