This is a super short audiobook, just over 6 minutes. In it, we learn of the young boy's desire to be an astronaut when he grows up, imagining many aspects of what it would be like if he were one. I appreciated having the visuals to go along with the audiobook, so I could see Tom's sense of joy and wonder when he thinks about being an astronaut. The book then jumps to when the boy is older, has completed his studies, and is now an astronaut. His imaginings of being one as a boy are very similar to what he experiences as an adult. The book did not end with any sort of fun space facts, which I think is a great way to end a picture book with nonfiction elements. The audiobook didn't have any special sound effects, music, or other audio elements that would make it worthwhile to buy for that reason. However, if you have a child who is an astronomy fan and dreams of being an astronaut, she—because little girls, too, want to become astronauts!—or he will probably enjoy this audiobook with its PDF.
