Ground Zero was spooky with elongated shadows covering the remains of the buildings. The shadows were in the shape of people, but the last thing Miranda ever expected to see at the fallen Twin Towers was her brother’s ghost. She was separated from Jake as a child. Christopher Michaels, a survivor of Tower Two, claims to be Jake’s best friend.
Is it really fate, like Michaels claims, that of all the thousands mourning at Ground Zero, he is the one she happens to bump into? She has no choice but to hang out with the weird Michaels in order to unravel her brother’s past. As Miranda spends time with her brother's best friend, she begins to wonder who the man really is. Against her better judgment, Miranda becomes emotionally entangled with Michaels, a bitter alcoholic with a secret.
Part mystery, part suspense, a riveting love story. I Will Always Love You takes place in the aftermath of 9/11, two weeks after the planes hit the World Trade Center in New York City. The author has won a Best Historical Fiction Award.

Miranda travels to ground zero after the attack on the twin towers, to try and find her long lost brother. They were separated as children after the death of their parents. She was under the impression that Jake worked at the World Trade Center. While she is there she thinks she see's her brother, but he fades away in the subway. She finds a dog she names Ashes, and meets a man she calls Michaels.
There are many twists and turns that keep the listener on edge. The listener will feel the sexual tension between the two.
I'm not sure if anyone younger than mid 30's will get this story!!!
It was a bit different listening to this on September 11,2020. A memorial to all the people that died nineteen years before, in the year the world is suffering a pandemic.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.Giselle M. Chatelain delivered plenty of emotion.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a great book. Anything written about 9/11 always makes me a bit nervous as it was such a huge tragedy for the world. This book did not disappoint. I loved every second of it. It was touching at times and very well paced. The book was very respectful of the tragedy and it was filled with emotion. The narrator was really good and was amazing for the timing
