About this listen

LINCOLN’S PARENTAGE-illustrated The lineage from which Abraham Lincoln came has often been questioned. This 1899 book has reopened that door with additional fact and photos for the modern eBook reader in 2013. The editor has added these photographs to help with the true identity of Abraham’s father. “After Mr. Lincoln had obtained some prominence in the world, persons who knew both himself and his father were constantly pointing to the lack of resemblance between the two. The old gentleman was not only deprived of energy and shiftless, and because of these persons were unable to account for the source of his son's ambition and intellectual superiority over other men. Hence the charge so often made in Kentucky that Mr. Lincoln was in reality the offspring of a Hardin or a Marshall, or that he had in his veins the blood of some of the noted families who held social and intellectual sway in the western part of the State.” Page 220. The search for one’s ancestors is often rewarding, but all-too often boring in its reading. The author has tried to enliven Lincoln’s ancestral search with this modern rendition of an old favorite. For those who have tried to disprove these claims, I have found fault, as you will too, when put to the test. Three-hundred Pages. Americas Politics & Activism Presidents & Heads of State
