The National Hockey League expansion of the last decade and the increased television coverage have exposed millions of new fans to hockey. The Stanley Cup is now seen in over 170 countries, while annual sales of NHL merchandise today exceed $1 billion. Yet hockey remains one of the least understood sports. I read this as a way to love my husband who loves hockey. He was surprised that even he didn’t know some of the nitty gritty facts in this book. Some of it was presented in a very straightforward but very boring way. I wish the reader had some enthusiasm as he read. The reader also mispronounced several words. But it’s only an hour long listen! Really breaks down the rules which is why I say if you’re transitioning from player to coach (even coaching kids), or player to ref, spend the hour listening to this book. You need the info!

Must read for coaches and refs

The performance felt like if you were listening to your little brother reading the rule book for a game. Performance is stilted, confused, and often mispronounced or with the emphasis off on words and syllables. Content is VERY specific to the rules and penalties of hockey. Useful for coaches and new players; not so interesting for fans.

Like your little brother reading the rule book
