E poi la conquista della terra promessa, da Giosuè che espugna Gerico a Davide che taglia la testa di Golia, da Sansone, l’eroe fortissimo ma tradito dal suo amore, a Salomone che innalza il tempio. Cazzullo rievoca storie dal fascino millenario. E racconta le grandi donne della Bibbia: Giuditta che taglia la testa al condottiero nemico, Ester che salva il popolo dallo sterminio, Susanna che fa condannare i suoi molestatori. E poi l’angelo che salva Tobia e il diavolo che tormenta Giobbe, l’amore del cantico dei cantici e la disillusione dell’Ecclesiaste (“tutto è vanità”). Sino alla grande speranza della resurrezione, e di un salvatore che viene a riscattare l’umanità: per i cristiani, Gesù.
