About this listen

Performers have been doing it for centuries. Now, for the first time, Robert Lowe, a pioneer in the field of improvisation, hands you the techniques you need to think on your feet and shows you how to apply these techniques in your workplace or classroom.

This book gives you:

  • The same techniques that improvisational actors use to increase their confidence;
  • A method of using humor to establish a strong rapport with your audience, students, or participants;
  • An effective way of using body language and voice for greater clarity and impact;
  • Scores of field-tested worksheets, checklists, and group activities to help you incorporate improvisational thinking and speaking into your own presentation style.

    The business world may be changing at breakneck speed, but this ancient form of theatre is as effective as ever. Buy this book and put improvisation to work for you today!

    complete waste of perfectly good CDs

    Oh, man, is this boring, dry, and lacking in content.
    If you MUST listen, avoid driving, performming medical procedures or operating heavy machinery.

    waste of time

    the best thing i learned from buying this one is that i should look at the review section prior to purchase. Horrible speaker, has nothing to do with improvisation, he has a fast paced preaching voice with an egotisic twist. Never again!!!

    Worst audible title ever

    Frankly this has got to be the worst audible book I ever bought. The book is so free of content and narrator is simply boring. Don't waste your time and money on this one.

    Ego with very little insight

    Before the book even begins you must endure an unbelievably long list of acknowledgements including cousins, mother-in-law, God and many, many, others. Then an endless introduction. I never made it to the content because I grew bored before the introduction finished.

    Lowe is a terrible writer and much too self-absorbed to be of any use to anyone else. He talks about the importance of playfulness while being so dull and completely unplayfull in his writing.

    Give this one a pass unless you're having trouble sleeping. Lowe's endless acknowledgements, alone, will lull you quickly into a deep sleep.
