About this listen

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. A good deed lands Erin running for her life and straight into the arms of a Leshy.

While fulfilling her elderly neighbors dying wish, Erin Clark is run off the road, shot at and chased through a forest. Animated trees and coordinating animals help put distance between her and her attackers. Every time she's cornered, the landscape shifts. Until she's caught. Trapped. Waiting for death.

Emerald Hickory knew the moment Erin entered the forest. The most delicious scent of fear oozed out of her. Taken by her beauty and the way she amuses him, he knew she was sent not just to find his creators granddaughter, but also as an offering to him. The problem is he's not the lumberjack Erin expected. He's a Leshy.

Can Emerald overcome the obstacles of danger and to convince Erin that she is his destined mate and belongs with him? Or will seeing him in his most terrifying form prove to be unbearable?

Monstrous grooms and beastly brides? Don't be afraid of falling in love... it's super-natural! Explore the entire Monster Brides series, one tantalizing happily-ever-after at a time!

Trigger warning: Attempted sexual assault.

Imaginative, Immersive, Impressive & Enjoyable! I loved it!

When Erin agreed to take a family heirloom to her neighbor’s Granddaughter, she had NO idea what she was getting into! The “directions” she’d got were sketchy … apparently someone’s on her tail … and then there’s the Leshy … the big … protective … fascinating … Emerald Hickory! It’s not only Erin, I’m “In Love with the Leshy” too! Imaginative and completely immersive, this story had me completely fascinated from beginning to end! The plot is a beautiful blend of old world fantasy “fairy” tale and real world romantic suspense mystery thriller, complete with the edge of seat, “oh, no, no, NO” moments that had me BREATHLESS as I hoped for a positive outcome … at times for Erin … at times Emerald … at times for them as a couple! The character development was amazing! There were characters that I started off wanting to take into the woods and loose … then as the story continued … I wanted to embrace! I’m not saying who, or how many, but as you listen, all will become crystal clear! The delightfully paced plot is beautifully complete with plenty of action, mystery, suspense, romance and the perfect amount of slow burn heat. There is also a nice bit of humor tossed in to season this one perfectly! I really loved that both the folklore that drives the story and the characters individual backstories are beautifully, brilliantly, and most of all interestingly explained, insuring that this listener had no questions when the credits rolled! What also kept me so perfectly immersed, so perfectly in the moment was the spot on perfectly timed, perfectly voiced narration! I loved the vocal choices! They so perfectly fit the characters personalities as they were described by the author! Both the scenes AND the characters came stunningly, vibrantly ALIVE as I listened! I could SEE the authors vision play out like a movie in my mind! I loved everything about “In Love with the Leshy” and the one thing I know is … I want more! Five fabulous stars! Oh Emerald!

Monster Bride

I'm a big fan of fantasy. I found this book to be not only fantasy but romance as well. Though this is a very swift audiobook or read it still gives us a very endearing story. The audiobook itself is worth the experience itself

Em & Erin

Spicy, male female, fated mates, monster romance. I love reading a book with a new to me creature. This one features a Leshy which is a tree spirit in Slavic mythology. There is some drama and peril (TW attempted rape - the scene is very short) but this was not a stressful read for me. A slow burn - the physical culmination of the leads' relationship happens at the very end. The narrator Sadie Provost did an amazing job. I'm glad I had a chance to listen!

Good audiobook

I received an audio code. This review is honest and voluntary.

This was a quick listen for me. I listened to it in 1 sitting. I enjoyed this book and the narration was well done. I didn't know much about Leshy myth before reading this book and after finishing I did some research into it. Very interesting and the author did their homework as it was portrayed accurately in the book. I would recommend to fellow monster romance lovers.

Good story

Leahy and a human. Erin is on the run for her life from the grandson of a neighbor who she knew killed her. She goes off into the woods to find a woman, the granddaughter of the neighbor woman, to give her a trinket from her neighbor. Along the way, the grandson catches up and tries to r@pe and kill her. Emerald , the leshy, saves her from the certain tragedy. He not only saved her once but twice but she also saves him.
Great characters, steamy, talk of r@pe, murder, danger, action, adventure, drama, fates mates, and HEA
The audiobook is done very well and was pleasant to listen to. The narrator, Sadie Provost does a bang up good job with the narration.
