About this listen
In this spine-chilling courtroom drama, beautiful 30-something defense attorney Sharon Hays takes on the case of Midge Rathermore, the teenage daughter of a Texas millionaire, who is accused of hiring a hit man to kill her father. In addition to her case, Sharon finds herself and her daughter being stalked by a savage sexual psychopath.

Of course, I listened to all of his works and became extremely curious of who Gray is and why he seemingly hasnt been published since the 90's. Sadly, I learned he died in July of 2015 at 75. Not surprisingly, given the tone of his works, I learned he was as big a character as Bino Phillips.
For example he used his life savings in 1962 to the entrance fee for a golf tournament in Texas for a drinking buddy. Later he ponyed up for the same pal to get into the US Open. That friend was Lee Trevino! And Gray developed a character based on Trevino in the Bino series.
Bill Gray became a pro gambler and later started an insurance company, eventually falling under suspicion for mail fraud. Sadly for him he eventually served 4 years in federal prison for mail fraud. He always claimed to be innocent Suddenly he had too much time on his hands. His first four novels were written in prison. At least two more were written while on probation.
I don't know why, but he wrote some novels as Sarah Gregory, including Self Defense. This is the first novel of four in the Sharon Hays series. I have reviewed The Best Defense and Capitol Scandal, both were awesome. If you like to read series in order, this is where you should start. However, I started with books 3 and 4 and found them both excellent on their own.
All said and done, any of AW Gray's novels are a joy to read.
