About this listen

Fifteen-year-old Indigo Summer's world finally seems to be going in the right direction: she hooks up with the star linebacker on the high-school football team, gets a date for homecoming, and makes the high-school dance squad all in the same week. But sometimes things are just too good to be true.

After football star Quincy Rawlins abruptly dumps her for a girl who is willing to put out, Indigo's popularity and self-esteem take a nosedive. When her perfect world falls apart, Indigo turns to the one person who seems to have his head on straight: her next-door neighbor, 16-year-old Marcus Carter.

The problem is, now that Indigo realizes what a great guy Marcus really is, so does someone else.

Hanging at the end...

This was a good book. The ending left me hanging but I enjoyed listening. Indigo grew up like many of us not seeing what was right in her face.

I liked the book, but..

I like the book. I remember reading this in high school. However, the narrator for the book should’ve added more emotion to her voice. She also should have changed her diction when narrating Marcus’s part.Or they could’ve had another narrator that is male.

Average Book

The book was good, I just think that they should have had two Narrators, one for the female in the book and one for the male in the book. The narrator didn't even try to change her voice when she spoke as though she was a male and it was pretty confusing.

My Favorite Book of all time!

I named my daughter Indigo after loving this book for so long. Only thing I wish is the author would have done is use a male voice for Marcus part or have the narrator change their voice for the male parts. Still my favorite book to date though.

The performance ugh

This was a book about African Americans and it was read by what sounded like a 6 year old Caucasian. No realism at all, do better!!
