About this listen

The hot indie rockers introduced by In the Band return in this compelling second installment of the Luminescent Juliet series. This time the focus is on Justin, the band’s gorgeous lead singer - and a notorious womanizer - who sails through life without a second thought. His only problems stem from the power struggles he has with his band mates, some of whom are living with dark troubles that he wants no part of. Then one night Justin stumbles into a tattoo parlor and meets Allie, a knockout tattoo artist with a past she won’t talk about, and he finds himself falling in love for real - and uncovering emotional depths he never knew he had. As their lives intertwine, Allie and Justin must confront what they mean to each other, and struggle to overcome the forces keeping them apart.

My favorite of the in the band trilogy...

Terrific story of womanizer singer, Justin, finding ink artist, Allie. He has to overcome his reputation to get her to give him a chance. She has to overcome her past to give them a long term chance.
Narrators are superb. Love that chapters rotate from Justin point of view then to Allie's point of view.

sweet

Sweet tho' I found it a little hard to believe that a guy can go from being a player one day to falling in love the next. I can see a woman become responsible after the birth of a child

Better than expected

Any additional comments?

Ok, after reading "In the Band" I was not expecting to enjoy Justin's story. However, I was pleasantly surprised to delight in the journey he took turning away from his man whoring ways to the decent human being he turned out to be. I knocked off a star here for some domestic violence that I thought was unnecessary to the plot. This of course is just personal opinion. We could have had the Ex threat here without it going as far as it did. Also, in addition to that I was a bit irritated by Allie not filing a restraining order when Justin initially suggests it (dumb girls irritate me). But... Had she done so we could have cut a bit of the drama out that was overkill and apparently the author wanted this book to be longer.
