Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

There is no bigger public health story now than the collapse in youth mental health. The numbers are terrifying and dominate our headlines. There has been much debate over how we got here, and what to do next, and bestselling author and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt is at the white-hot center of that discourse. Haidt has spent his career speaking wisdom and truth into the most difficult landscapes—communities polarized by politics and religion, campuses battling culture wars, and now the perfect storm contributing to a public health emergency for Gen Z.

Install a self-confidence program
It’s imperative now more than ever that individuals develop a healthy sense of self-esteem, autonomy, and self-appreciation what with the onslaught of social media platforms becoming more and more a part of daily life. The aforementioned platforms contain plenty of ammo and trickery to really shatter the self-confidence of many a user, especially when the comment sections do not contain a governing force. However, I suppose this is the challenge–to equip young people with an education in self-appreciation that simply bypasses and does not take to heart the critiques, conjecture, and illusory portrayals of others because they have installed within them a powerful self-confidence program that puts one’s own opinion, thoughts and feelings first and says “hmm, what do I think about this and how do I feel?” and takes that inner, confident voice seriously. Bright Guide Publications helps listeners install that program by way of social navigation, tackling emotions in mindful ways, and so much more, so that they can carry confidence with them through life.
