About this listen
Marilyn Monroe was found dead in the early hours of August 5, 1962, lying face down in her bed, naked and with her hands by her side. Autopsy reports stated that the popular Hollywood star had died of barbiturate overdose.
The body was discovered when her housekeeper noticed that Monroe's bedroom light was on around midnight. After knocking on the door a few times and getting no answer, she called Monroe's psychiatrist, who arrived and broke through the window to find her dead body. The police arrived at 4:30 a.m.
Despite the fact that the coroner ruled the death as a result of drug overdose, many conspiracy theories have been proposed. Many people believe that the death was not an overdose, but a murder.
This book is an attempt to look at Monroe's death, how it happened, and the many conspiracy theories floating around even 50 years after her death.

This audiobook, at only about 25 minutes, was the perfect length for me to see if I wanted to learn more about Marilyn Monroe. Many of you are probably wondering why I wasted time with such a short book...well, I wanted to learn about her, but I really had no clue if these facts and stories about her would be interesting to me or not. The last thing I want to do is listen to a 10-hour audiobook about someone who doesn't interest me. And yes, I could have looked up online facts about her life and death, but I'm online enough when I'm working. Sometimes it nice to have all the research already done for you AND have the luxury of someone reading it to you. Ahhh...the life! Hahaha! Being that it is also under $3, you really can't go wrong. :-)
Well...I LOVED IT! Of course, now knowing this, I wish it had been longer! I had no idea that she was found dead at such a young age...so sad! The information presented really got me curious, so I took it to Google, even after saying I wasn't going to. Oopsie! Needless to say, I have spent the last few hours online reading articles, looking at pictures, reviewing documents and memorabilia...so much has happened since her death regarding her estate/personal belongings. I cannot believe how much information is out there. Seriously! When I looked her up, the most recent news on her was one day ago. ONE DAY AGO!! It was regarding the dress she wore when singing to President Kennedy. It is awesome that she still lives on in the hearts and minds of so many people! She has impacted so many lives and people love her. Being that it is the Internet, it is difficult to know what and who to believe, but when I'm finished writing this review, I still want to look up more about her life and the conspiracies surrounding her death that were mentioned in this audiobook. Listening to this 25 minute book has sparked an interest in me that I never knew would reach this level. I want to get to the bottom of Marilyn Monroe's mysterious death!
Obviously, I give the audiobook Interesting Stories and Facts about Marilyn Monroe's Death by J.D. Rockefeller, Narrated by Mike Norgaard a 5/5 rating!! It is interesting, entertaining, and very thought-provoking! It is well -written and to the point. The narration of Mr. Norgaard is clear and concise, well-paced, and presented in an objective manner. I will be on the hunt for another book by my new favorite Dynamic Duo! I highly recommend this book as a starting point to those who are interested in learning more about Marilyn Monroe's short-lived life and the mystery surrounding her death.
Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope it was helpful! :-)
You DEFINITELY got my attention!!!
